Over the years we've worked closely with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). Clay Nettles, Executive Director, RID: "It has been my privilege to be involved with the RID and the interpreting profession for almost 11 years. It would be impossible to quantify the number of times that the paths of RID and SLA have come together. Often, it is not a case of our paths crossing, but that of a parallel journey. A journey that includes: sponsoring test development or the biennial national conference, exhibiting at the national conference, working as a sponsor for the Certification Maintenance Program, and encouraging interpreters to become members of RID. SLA has always been there, an integral, positive and dynamic force in the interpreting profession. Suffice it to say that the interpreting profession and the national association of interpreters would not be the same without the time, the effort and the people of Sign Language Associates."
