While SLA has been serving the Denver Community since 1998, our presence doubled in size in May of 2004 when we joined forces with a Video Relay Services provider. The partnership has been successful because of our mutual commitment to working with our clients, and the deaf and interpreting communities, to balance VRS needs with the needs of the Denver community.
While we are proud of our 99% fill rate for all requested assignments, we believe that it is not enough. SLA Denver has established a rotation system whereby the staff of VRS interpreters rotate into the community each week. We want to make sure that our customers’ favorite interpreters are not lost to VRS, but are still available to meet their needs!
SLA values community service and our Denver staff is very involved! SLA staff were involved with the recent ASL Festival in Denver and assumed many roles at the Colorado RID Conference in Colorado Springs. Our interpreters generously supported DOVE, a Denver charity that provides advocacy services for abused women and children.
SLA is a registered vendor with the state of Colorado.
