Looking to prepare for the NIC Knowledge Examination but don’t know where to start?? Come join SLA staff members and prepare with us. This ten week training series will review most all materials listed on the suggested study materials guide from RID. These study sessions will cover the task, knowledge, and skill statements as defined by the NAD-RID National Interpreter Certification (NIC) Examination Test Outline. At the completion of the series a practice test will be given. You need not face this daunting task alone…come and let us all learn together! Requirements: Participants will satisfy the following requirements: - Each participant will be expected to attend and participate in ALL sessions of the 10-week series. - Each participant will be expected to participate in weekly discussions on-line. - Each participant will be responsible for one book to outline and present by creating the following: 1. a section by section detailed outline for their book 2. a reading summary 3. a vocabulary list with definitions 4. 3 or 4 group discussion questions to be used the night of their presentation 5. 20 test questions (with answers and references) from their book to be used as a compilation for the mock test given at the end of the 10 weeks.
